Wayne's directorial vision, explores multi universal settings, often combing both film and animation. Direction is applied to all processes through the conception and steps of production.
Wayne's directorial journey, begun collaborating with Melbourne based band Husky. The film was created, using a mixture of animation techniques and stood out enough to earn himself a special place in the Vimeo staff pick collection. The film has since gone on to show around the globe and continues to be played at film festivals 6 years after.
Since then, Wayne has gone on to work with distinguished artists across the musical spectrum including John Williams, Boxed In and Crystal Fighters.
Husky music video. Film was produced over the summer of 2015 in Berlin, and was hand crafted using puppets and miniature sets then finalised with compositing the 3D characters. Some of the processes can be seen on my blog - waynemccauslin.tumblr.com

Lay Low

"The video, directed by Wayne McCauslin, was made in Berlin using stop motion, puppets, and hand-made miniature sets. It perfectly compliments the song, which has an amazing message. "This song is about looking after your friends and family," the band said. "[I]t's about taking the time to try and leave a positive impact on earth everyday, as if it's your last. It's about remembering to hug and high five your friends every time you see them, and to take the time to appreciate every moment we are given here on this beautiful planet. With this song we pay homage to the miracle of the known, the mystery of the unknown, and our limited time within it."
The Moondog
The story, is about this relationship between a young boy and girl who are transported to an alien planet, all made possible by the magic of a telescope that is activated during 'The Moondog' a rare phenomenon when a colourful ring appears during a full moon.
The pair love their new alien world but the girl misses her home and the boy is drawn between his new home and the girl he loves. Because of this divide, they tragically separate and are kept apart through space and time. The idea for the alien whale in the story, was a way in which the man could make it back home and bring his world to her world. A pretty decent compromise.
Forget - Boxed In
''London quartet Boxed In share the new video for single “Forget” from their upcoming album Melt, due out September 23rd  via Nettwerk Records.
The new video compliments the electronics of “Forget,” a track that wrestles with how much your conscience will let you move forward from a period of life you’d rather leave behind. It sees Boxed In team up once more with director Wayne McCauslin, who also produced the video for “Jist.” Oli Bayston, the brainchild behind Boxed In, comments, “After the incredible job Wayne did on the ‘Jist’ video, I was really excited to have him on board for ‘Forget’ as well. When he told me that we’d be filming in an abandoned chemical factory in deep Eastern Berlin, dodging security as we went, that was the tipping point.” McCauslin addes, “Before I’d even heard ‘Forget,’ I wanted to make something that sourced from my initial feelings – that excitement and buzz you get when you first hear a track. And when I finally heard it, the visuals just flowed out like Oli had shook the bottle before giving it to me.”
